Inner Wheel District 301: Women’s Cricket Carnival – A Historic Milestone
Under the umbrella of District Chairman Dr Manisha Kaushik and
With great pride and enthusiasm our Sports Committee Chairpersons IPAP Preeti Gugnani, PNE / DCCC Seema Khaitan and PP Kaumudi Sharma, welcomed our Inner Wheel family to the Women’s Cricket Carnival. This remarkable event marked 100+ years of breaking barriers and advancing women’s empowerment. The visionary spirit of IPAP Preeti Gugnani whose idea, concept and thought brought to life the Inner Wheel Cricket League.
For the first time District 301 hosted an all-women’s cricket league, where six incredible teams took to the field, showcasing the strength, unity, and spirit of Inner Wheel women.

each represented unique qualities, from royal confidence and fearless ambition to enduring resilience. A lot of meticulous planning and preparation went into the formation of the teams and it was wonderful to witness these determined athletes take a stand, inspiring countless women as they played not just for victory, but to carve their place in history of District 301
Even though the women cricketers were amateurs but their enthusiasm was palpable and there was clearly visible professionalism in the way every thing was conducted.
Each player was handed a jacket, cap, Steel bottle of water and there was food, music, bilingual commentary, live streaming, thrilling awards, and lively entertainment throughout the event- making it a true celebration of women’s power and passion. The heat did not for a moment act as a deterrent to the spirit of the players or spectators. Together, we cheered on our champions as they made their mark on the field and in our hearts!
It was heartwarming to see our DC Dr Manisha , as well as our IPAP Preeti Gugnani, NE Anita Jain , PDC Mala Rishi along with District Secretary Deepa Goel wielding the cricket bat and participating whole heartedly in the game.
The event was also graced by the special invitee Babita Negi (Captain of the Senior Women’s Cricket Team)

were also present along with the members to cheer the teams.
At the end the winner was the Boundary Blasters Team who won the finals and took the winning Trophy home. There were trophies for the other participating teams too – all in all a beautifully organised event well accepted by our DC who said that ICL ( Inner Wheel Cricket League) is inspired by the IPL and we are all excited and planning for an Inter District Championship on 10th January 2025.
The entire event was completely sponsored by Sports and Physical Fitness Com Chairpersons IPAP Preeti Gugnani and PNE / DCCC Seema Khaitan and no registration fees were charged.
