“Revving Up for a Cause- Know Thalassemia, No Thalassemia: Inner Wheel’s Car Treasure Hunt Rally’24”
On a crisp winter morning, December 17th, the streets of Delhi came alive with the roar of engines and the spirit of adventure. The Inner Wheel Club of Delhi Civil Lines, led by Club President Poonam Gupta, hosted a Car Treasure Hunt Rally with a noble cause: “Know Thalassemia No Thalassemia” at Shah Auditorium, Civil Lines. The event was a resounding success, with 38 enthusiastic participants, including Inner Wheel members and non-members, coming together to support a great cause.
The rally was flagged off by Past District Chairman Purnima Narayan and Past District Chairman Ruchika Aggarwal, along with District Secretary Deepa Goel and other dignitaries. District Chairman Dr. Manisha Kaushik and her daughter Shreya led the car rally procession in their car, followed by bikers Dr. Parwani and Bhavneet Kkor, who inaugurated the rally with a bang.
The participants navigated through 10 designated checkpoints, solving clues and completing challenges along the way. The event was judged by a panel of experts, including Dr. Neelam Parwani Reiki Grandmaster & Holistic Healer, and Bhavneet Kkor , a female enthusiastic biker.
As the cars returned to the starting point, one by one, the participants were still super charged and enthusiastic, eagerly showing off their collected selfies from the clue spots. The excitement was palpable, with everyone sharing stories of their adventures and challenges faced during the rally.
The rally was followed by a thought-provoking session on Thalassemia, led by Dr. Ravinder Dudeja, Padma Shree Award winner and curator of the Thalassemic Foundation. Dr. Dudeja was accompanied by a group of children from the Thalassemic Foundation, who were thrilled to be a part of the event. The children were also treated to a special session by Dr. Parwani, who interacted with them. The children were distributed goodies and books donated by the entire clubs of District 301.
The event also included a donation ceremony, where a cheque was handed over to Dr. Dudeja who founded and supports the Thalassemic Foundation’s efforts in creating awareness and supporting patients with Thalassemia.
But that’s not all! The event also featured a Police Safety Drill, where a team of four police officers conducted a drill on personal safety and self-defense techniques, empowering the participants with valuable knowledge and skills.
And, of course, no event is complete without delicious food! The participants and organizers were treated to a sumptuous spread of snacks and tea, followed by a healthy South Indian lunch. The food was a big hit, with everyone raving about the flavors and variety.
The day concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where District Chairman Dr. Manisha Kaushik and District Secretary Deepa Goel were honored by the Host Club. The event was a grand success, with participants and organizers alike praising the Inner Wheel Club’s efforts to raise awareness about Thalassemia.
As Past District Chairman Purnima Narayan reflected, “The Car Treasure Hunt Rally is an annual event that showcases the Inner Wheel’s commitment to social causes. This year’s event was a testament to the power of teamwork and community spirit.”
The Inner Wheel Club’s Car Treasure Hunt Rally has set a new benchmark for community-driven events in Delhi. We look forward to seeing what next year’s event has in store!
