On September 8th, 2024, marking World Literacy Day, District 301, under the guidance of District Chairman Dr. Manisha Kaushik, hosted a significant Literacy Webinar focused on *DISHA, the Inner Wheel India Literacy Mission. The event featured esteemed dignitaries, with Association President Mrs. Sunita Jain as the Special Invitee, and an expert faculty comprising **IILM Chairman PIIWP* Mrs. Abha Gupta, *IILM Co-Chairperson PIIWT* Mrs. Sarita Lulani, *NZLCC PAP* Dr. Urmil Bareja, and *DLCC PDC* Madhu Nagpal.
The session commenced with opening remarks by District Chairman Dr. Manisha Kaushik, setting the tone for the importance of education and literacy. Mrs. Sunita Jain, Association President, highlighted the fundamental right of every Indian citizen to education. She encouraged District 301 to continue their commendable work of enabling access to education through initiatives like *Happy Schools*, aimed at supporting the underprivileged.
Mrs. Abha Gupta, IILM Chairman, underscored the need to prioritize education to liberate youth from the constraints of illiteracy. Following her, IILM Co-Chairperson, Mrs. Sarita Lulani, provided a detailed guide on establishing, sustaining, and revitalizing *Happy Schools*, emphasizing the nine critical verticals essential for their successful operation.
Adding to the discourse, NZLCC PAP Dr. Urmil Bareja provided insights on creating *Smart Classrooms—spaces where children can enhance their learning experience through interactive slides and posters. Meanwhile, DLCC PDC Madhu Nagpal elaborated on the importance of **Integrated Teacher Training*, offering perspectives on its methods and long-term impact on both teachers and students.
Each speaker’s contributions enriched the mission of literacy, offering the participants a clearer understanding and direction on how to implement these initiatives effectively. The attendees left the webinar with valuable knowledge and a sense of purpose, empowered to take positive and constructive action in their respective areas.
